Poison Proof Rats

Poison Proof Rats
About three quarters of the rats in western England are said to have become immune to rat poisoning.

Studies show that 75% of the rat population in and around Bristol, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire have started to get used to the solid poisons used by exterminators and the average person. Scientists say that this is due to the fact that people aren’t giving the rodents enough poison letting their immune systems become more resistant against rats. Then, when a resistant rat mates with another resistant rat it makes their children immune to the poison.
A source said “it’s a big problem, as rats can spread diseases, and as they’re becoming immune, diseases will spread quicker. Action needs to be taken fast”.
The areas most affected by this rat mutation are places like Bath and Wiltshire. Scientists are saying that within 10 years time all the rats in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Bristol could all be immune to solid poisons.
